Courses are conducted in person in Mumbai and I offer both an intensive course as well as a crash course, for those students who are in the city for a short while.

SAT Verbal

Structure

A 40-hour intensive course, twice a week over 3 months, culminating in a burst of daily sessions the week before the exams. The first month is dedicated to teaching you concepts and techniques and making sure you are able to grasp them perfectly. You will spend the next two months perfecting the techniques and concepts you have acquired by going through my vast collection of interactive exercises that I have painstakingly put together and my collection of SAT papers for practice.

Crash course

International students who come home for the summer or winter can opt for my 3-week crash course. The crash course is tailor made, depending on how long you are in Mumbai. Typically, you will finish the ideally required 40 hours by coming to me on a daily basis – Monday through Friday.

Special needs

If you have a learning disability I will customise the course for you. I will also help and guide you through the SSD process, which can be very confusing for parents and children.

GMAT Verbal

Structure

A 40-hour intensive course that stretches over 3 to 4 months. The first month is dedicated to teaching you concepts and techniques and making sure you are able to grasp them perfectly. From the second month you will work interactively with me perfecting the techniques and concepts you have aquired. You will not only go through my vast collection of exercises but also work online, for this is, after all, a Computer Adaptive Test.

Crash course

International students who come home for the summer or winter can opt for my 2-3-week crash course, which is tailor-made to your requirements, depending on how long you are in Mumbai.

Application essays

The application process especially for B schools can be quite harrowing. I help and guide you with your application essays. I review and critique them; for the not-so-confident student I review the content, language, word length requirement, the flow of ideas and content along with sentence structure. If the essay needs a revamp I will guide you how to do it.

Special training

Whether you are still in university or are working, the Verbal section of the GMAT requires hard work for it tests your very ability to infer, analyse, correlate and deliver correctly. My techniques will help you to reach into the recesses of your mind to remember long forgotten grammar rules, and of course learn new strategies.

Essay writing

Writing is sometimes the most difficult part of the SAT or the GMAT.

If you are far away and need help working on your essays, I am the person to come to.

I conduct online one-on-one essay sessions over 10 essays that will benefit you greatly.

We will discuss essay techniques, I will critique your writing through track changes and you will then write new essays for practice.

After going through a rigourous 10 essay course with me, you will be able to write a well balanced, well thought out and well sequenced essay.

Credentials

SAT

I’ve taught SAT aspirants since 2004 and 70% of my students have not had to repeat the SAT. Every one of them has gained admission into the university of his/her choice.

GMAT

I’ve taught GMAT aspirants for over 8 years and my students have achieved a high score of 780.

Essay writing

My students have achieved high scores of 12 at the SAT and 6 at the GMAT – both at the top of their respective ranges.

About me

Bringing yourself to study for the SAT or the GMAT can be quite a daunting prospect. Let me do that for you.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved teaching. While studying for my Bachelor of Commerce degree and my ATCL diploma in Music I began my career in education by teaching singing, music and the piano to primary and secondary school children. I found I enjoyed teaching so much that I went on to graduate from the Bombay Teachers Training College in 1981, where I majored in teaching English and Economics. Since then I have been dedicated to teaching English.

During my years as a secondary school teacher I realized that there are many children with special needs who find it difficult to cope with English and so I studied again, to help those children who need that little extra something.

With 20 odd years of experience teaching English I make an otherwise boring learning experience fun and interactive, all the while keeping in mind the goal at hand – the perfect score.
